Hello and welcome to the 2025 Fort Logan Ranch bull sale.
We are excited to offer an outstanding set of yearling bulls that have been continually evaluated and selected for disposition, structure, and growth.
This year’s sires include Sitz Dignity 599J. We chose this bull because he checks a lot of boxes for our program. He ranks in the top 1% for $M, Claw, Angle, and PAP. He is also in the top 4% for Heifer Pregnancy, top 2% for Rib Eye Area, while maintaining moderate mature height and weight.
We also have sons out of Sitz Milestone and Tehama Patriarch F028. Sitz Milestone is in the top 4% for ADG, and top 10% for both weaning and yearling weight. He has shown to be a true performance bull, with exceptional foot quality.
Tehama Patriarch, now deceased, is a proven calving ease sire with some of the best in industry maternal EPDs. Top 5% CED, top 3% for both CEM and Heifer Pregnancy. We have cows from 2-4 yrs old, sired by Patriarch in production, and are very pleased with their structure, udder quality, and retention.
The bulls weaned off extremely well last fall, those weights are their actual weaning weights. The bulls are not creep fed, and summer on large pastures where they cover plenty of country. Once the bulls are weaned we turn them out on irrigated pasture for a month before putting them in their feed pens. We designed the pens so the bulls have to walk 250 yards between the feed bunk and their water source. They usually make this trip 4-5 times per day resulting in about ½-1 mile per day. The bulls are on a ration of chopped hay, sorghum silage, and a bull developer pellet. With this ration they are gaining 2.5-3lbs per day. We feel this is an acceptable amount of growth without making them excessively fat.
The bulls offered in this year’s sale are commercial bulls and will not be registered. All bulls are A.I. sired out of cows that are A.I. sired. We have been A.I. ing our entire herd since the early 1980s and have extensive records and data on all our cows. Only 20-25% of the male calf crop are kept as sale bulls, and we are constantly taking off the bottom end.
We send Method Genetics DNA samples, pedigree information, and performance data to generate genomic EPDs for the bulls. We feel this is a valuable tool that provides functional genetic insight and allows ranchers to select bulls based on their own herd goals.
As we continuously improve and evolve our bull program, we are taking the opportunity to sell our registered bull calves as two-year-olds in the 2026 Stevenson Angus Ranch sale. This sale will be held in March 2026 in White Sulphur Springs.
Join us for a preview day at the ranch on April 24, beginning around 11am. We will have lunch and drinks all day. The bulls can be toured anytime that day or in the weeks leading up to the sale, for the convenience of customers. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to call or text.
Thank you for your support of our program,
